Great work, really nice.

Thanks, I have a few hundred drawings on maps I'll be scanning and eventually posting here as well as incorporating into upcoming work. The maps are interesting to me because there's something there already and it leads to new ideas (more than a blank piece of paper). But it's also a bit kitschy, and crutch-like too, I think. See the word Duncan... Draw a donut.
These outdated maps were given to me by my wife, for the purpose of my artwork, after her father died a few years ago and left boxes and boxes of stuff for her (he was a packrat extraordinaire). So the maps also have a bit more meaning for me too, because I loved him a lot also. His name was Van Judah. He was a good man, and a designer and teacher.
And of course maps are ripe with the spirit of adventure, wanderlust, promise, and melancholy to begin with anyway.
unique concept and great take for this week!
Hello, thanks for your comment in my blog.
You have really good stuff in here. I am also working on maps now, so as you can imagine I quite like what you've done here.
See you around.
Love the map background as well, and the really like how you add plain. Congrats on winning artmonday, you deserved it.
A really strong and interesting image! You rock.
very creative - love your use of color and text
